Last week, Paul threw in a load of laundry. No big deal, right? Typical, even.

Except the machine was broken and he did not know. The spin cycle is b0rked and when I went down to retrieve it, it was sodden and did not smell all that great. I did what I could, but after drying that smell persisted. I ended up taking the worst offenders to the laundromat and doing a load there.

It was a very small load, mostly made up of my compression socks, and it felt very wasteful to do that. And yet, my socks no longer smell like standing laundry water with a touch of mould. Ew.

The machine downstairs is still broken, the sign I made for it still on the machine, the blackish brackish water still in the bottom of the machine. This is a week later. Fucking hell, that's unacceptable. There are sixteen units in this building and one washer. And it's broken. The fuck.

I need to get laundry done this week. I'm running out of things, the boy needs his done, and I'm out of dishcloths (the indicator for the household laundry). I had to make dishcloths yesterday to have enough to get me through to tomorrow. Tomorrow, we're taking it all down to the laundromat because we have no other choice.
