I made a chocolate-ginger marble cake for a party I went to on Saturday. I based it on a Crazy Cake recipe I had from
kadenza and it turned out really well. It was a really easy cake to make and it was a hit at the party.
And because I can, here's the recipe...
Chocolate-Ginger Marble Cake
Chocolate Cake:
1 1/2 c flour
3 tbsp cocoa
1 c sugar
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vinegar
1/3 c oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 c water
Ginger Cake:
1 1/2 c flour
1 1/2 tbsp ginger
1 c sugar
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vinegar
1/3 c oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 c water
Either the ginger or the chocolate would work out nicely on their own, but either only needs an 8" square baking pan lined with parchment and 30-40 minutes in a 350 degree F oven.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper.
- Using 1 bowl for the chocolate batter and another for the ginger, whisk together cake ingredients, dry to wet.
- Glop into the pan, alternating between ginger and chocolate.
- Using a chopstick (or bamboo skewer or toothpick or butter knife), swirl the layers using fairly largish loops until it looks how you like.
- Bake 40-50 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
