I had put aside leftover coffee for brownies a couple of days before, and knew I couldn't wait much longer if I didn't want to throw it out or freeze it. The brownies were delicious.

My mom gave Paul a couple of lemons about a week prior that she had kicking around and didn't know how she was going to use up before they ended up on the compost pile. So they came to me, hence cake.

The cake has been pretty damned tasty, although it could have been a *touch* more lemony. I should have added a little lemon extract to compensate for not quite having enough lemon rind. But that's an observation, not a complaint. :D
