valkryorOMG, you guys, I finally finished it!
I thrift a lot of yarn. It scratches an itch and, well, is a lot cheaper than buying new. I don't remember when I picked up the two balls of yarn that started all of this, but I do remember crocheting it during a lockdown, so there is that. And that bit of it sat. And sat. And sat while I tried to figure out what the hell I was going to do with it.
Eventually, as is often the case, I hunted down more yarn of a similar size and, well, made a blanket. It's soft. It's squishy. It's eye-searing. I LOVE IT. I've even named it, and, on account of the thrifted nature of the materials, it has two: It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time and/or Mistakes Were Made.
I took these photos before the ends were woven in, whilst I was doing some blocking to stretch out the middle section. It kind of worked? I'm not giving it away, so a wonky blanket suits me just fine. I finished weaving in the ends (which took roughly TWO FRIGGEN HOURS) yesterday.
This is a mix of five different stitches, and five different yarn types. It's also a lot brighter in person.
