Walkies!

It seems like an alarming trend...me, getting away from the computer and under the harsh rays of the unrepentent daystar and enjoying every minute of it. I could have walked longer to, but more than 40 minutes in one go is pushing it. So even though it was pleasant to get my muscles moving, I shouldn't overdo it either.

I went out in a light jacket and was warm enough, even with the wind. I wasn't even really thinking anything beyond flits of surface thoughts like "let's go this way" or "that's a nice house".

I did notice, though, the strangely even number of Liberal, Conservative and NDP signs. On one hand, it's alarming to see so much blue signage, but on the other, strangely good to see so much orange. There was even one house that had a blue and an orange one! Weird.

As much as I need to find employment, I'm enjoying being able to get outside and go for a walk on a whim. And at least it's not costing me anything to do so.

Our house always had a red and an orange sign. My Mom always voted Liberal and my Dad always voted NDP. :)

My mom's always been NDP, so it was usually an orange sign (when there was one at all).

When the Prisoner of Gravity and I were living on Mary Street, in the back half of that house owned by the child psychologist, there was an election. The psychologist put up a Conservative sign on the lawn facing Union, and we put up an NDP sign on our portion of the lawn facing Mary.

Well, he got all upset and told us to take down our sign because he didn't want the lawn "cluttered with mixed messages" or something. I dunno if it was an aesthetic thing or a political thing. We initially refused, but seeing as he owned our home, we relented, relocating the sign to the window of the front porch.

He still wasn't happy, but he put up with it.

I would have said, "take down yours and we'll take down ours." It's probably a good thing that you can't get evicted for supporting a different party. :P
