Day 4 of the No Heat Saga

Well, the furnace guy has been and gone. Apparently, the furnace is installed and working, but I have yet to hear any pinging up here. I'm getting more than just a tad annoyed about the entire thing. A day or two, okay, I can live with that but four days is a bit much.

Hang on a sec, just going to nip downstairs to check on the new furnace (and to make sure the boiler switch has actually been flipped)...

Well, the switch has been switched and the water in the pipes is warm, at least, so it must take an hour or so for it to get up to temperature.

I'm so looking forward to being able to get out of bed tomorrow morning and not have to either immediately bundle under blankets on the couch or head directly into the shower. I'm also looking forward to not having to worry if the baby is too hot or too cold.

UPDATE: For those of you who know this building well, you also know that one teeny tiny airbubble in the pipes efficiently strangles the heat. As far as I'm aware, I've bled all the air out of the pipes that's there to bleed and still no pinging. It's now 11:15 pm and there is still no heat. When I checked on the pipes to see if they were warm, the pipe for our apartment was noticeably cooler than the other two. Grrr....so not impressed.

I wish. Although a couple of hundred of bucks off for the inconvenience would be nice...

I was thinking the same thing. I hope the heat has kicked in by now.

Nope. Not yet. Still no heat for me. My fingers and toes are cold but my blood is now boiling. Going to run downstairs, turn off furnace, make sure thermostat is working (ie. all the wires are in the right place), turn furnace back on and hope that *that* works. If not, I get to call the landlord...oh joy. :P
