We went to the Zoo on May 1 and I'm finally getting around to posting pictures. I was sad that we couldn't see the polar bears, but that's just an excuse to go next year and see the new tundra enclosure. :)
Some of the commentary is going to be spotty because it's been a while and my memory is a bit like swiss cheese these days. :)

For the first time, we went to the Canadian section. Usually, by the time we see the path down (after walking through most of the Africa exhibit), we're too tired to go. This time, we took the Zoo tram and skipped the African exhibit.
The reward? A really great shot of one of the cougars.

I had no luck with any of the bears...couldn't see the polar bears (which I was really looking forward to see) and the grizzlies were acting like they were sleeping off a drinking binge from the night before.

Lynx! (When we passed the enclosure on the way down, he was curled into a little ball of kitty cute. When we came back, you could see his face.)

We had to wait to get picked up by the tram. The Africa "station" is right near the giraffes and they were quite active and close.

Giraffes!

I can't remember what kind of sheep/goat/ungulate this is, but the kids were awfully adorable.

Siberian tigers. They were pretty inactive, but I wanted to go into the enclosure and rub all that exposed belly.

Then we had a look at this unhappy chap. He's in the smaller space, since the big one is occupied by his sister (the one on her back) and her two cubs. He was vocal and would be pretty content to use you as a scratching post.

The meeting of the minds (why, yes, that is a canada goose in with the wallabies. The geese were in just about every enclosure except for the tigers and the bears.)

Sumatran tigers. I have such a love of big cats. I could watch them quite happily for hours.

Underwater shot of a crocodile. I wish I could remember which kind it was. It might even be an alligator, but my brain = swiss cheese. :)
I am pleased how the shot turned out, though.

Another reptile, this time a green lizard also shot through glass. I think we were in the Malaysian pavilion at the time.
So that's it. I took more photos, but figured that posting 50+ would have been a bit excessive. ;)
