I prepped (that is baked, cooled, pureed and drained) the seconded pumpkin yesterday and bagged it up in various amounts so it could be frozen. I set aside enough to complete the food experiment I mentioned yesterday, but I'm not sure if it's a success.

For the record, it doesn't taste horrible and the crust is very crunchy (which I like in my cakes/loaves/breads). You can smell the pumpkin, but it tastes more like a lightly spiced mildly flavoured banana cake. It's not bad, just not what I was expecting.

The flavours will likely be better developed tomorrow. And if they don't develop, I'm thinking a little butter will make all the difference. :)

Butter does indeed make everything better, but I have difficulty believing that anything you make ever turns out less than perfect :)

See, that's where you're wrong. Last week, I misread a recipe and had to attempt another food experiment that didn't work out in the end. It happens. *shrug* :)

It's not that the pumpkin banana bread didn't turn out, it's just not as flavourful as I was hoping. It's almost as if one cancels out the other.

Which is why I said 'less than perfect', not that it didn't turn out :)
